  • DHCPv6 for portable devices now availble

    The DHCPv6 service is now available also for the portable/mobile devices in the GPN. At the moment the service is available only for the devices that are marked “IPv6 enabled” in the network database (landb). If you want to try DHCPv6, please drop an email to ipv6@cern.ch stating the name of your device (landb name).

  • DNS servers now reachable over IPv6

    The CERN GPN DNS servers respond to queries over IPv6. Their addresses are 2001:1458:201:1000::5 (ip-dns-1.ipv6.cern.ch) and 2001:1458:201:1100::5 (ip-dns-2.ipv6.cern.ch)

  • NTP over IPv6 ready!

    NTP can now be syncronized over IPv6. The CERN NTP servers are ip-time-1.ipv6.cern.ch and ip-time-2.ipv6.cern.ch.

  • IPv6 now available in building 15 and 22

    IPv6 is now available for pilot users in building 15 and 22. DHCPv6 can be used on devices with static IP addresses (i.e. 137.138.x.y); otherwise manual configuration of the addresses is required. Get in touch with ipv6@cern.ch if you’d like to try IPv6.
